You choose. Standard tier supports daily snapshots. Pro tier adds hourly incremental backups (last 24 hours) plus daily full snapshots. Enterprise tier adds continuous replication with sub-15-minute RPO.
Backups are stored in a different geographic region than your production workload to protect against regional failure. You can also pin backups to a specific compliance region (e.g., EU-only or Turkey-only).
